South Surrey is a neighborhood of Surrey city and borders on the city of White Rock. It encompasses large populations of families and senior communities. As of the 2001 census, the total population of South Surrey was 53,980.

The quaint and remarkable village of Crescent Beach, Elgin, Chantrell and Ocean Park in South Surrey create a charming community atmosphere with many local businesses that offer a variety of goods and unexpected treasures. Whereas, the other sub areas of Morgan Creek, Grandview Heights, Hazelmere, and Sunnyside provide an extended name brand shopping experience. British Columbia is the warmest province in Canada and therefore, being on the coast we get wonderfully warm summers with some rainy days. The average summer temperature matches White Rock with a high of 22C and the average winter temperature is 5C. White Rock is the self-proclaimed Golf Capital of Canada with 15 golf courses within a 15 minute drive of the city.

South Surrey comprises the entire Semiahmoo peninsula other than the small wedge of White Rock, and lies between Mud Bay to the northwest and Semiahmoo Bay to the south. It has an array of parks, community centers, schools and is a growing metropolis for all families. The set-up of parks and beaches makes living in this luxury area a desire for many people. It contains a rich amount of nature and prosperity that it just keeps developing while retaining its historical charm and serenity.

South Surrey has several sports team that are well noted in the area and local Scott Gomez, who is now playing for the Montreal Canadiens as of 2012, remembers his time playing for the Surrey Eagles in 1997 at the local South Surrey Arena.

The four high schools serving this region are Semiahmoo Secondary School, Earl Marriott Secondary School, Elgin Park Secondary School, White Rock Christian Academy and Southridge School. Elementary schools are well represented by a total of 18 and then 3 private schools (Southridge and White Rock Christian Academy covering Kindergarten to grade 12). This area is known for the fine quality of its pre-school programs and excellent standards set from Kindergarten to Grade 12. The 3 libraries that service White Rock District offer a wide variety of learning opportunities for all ages.

South Surrey is a choice area for outdoors activities including paddle boarding, sailing, ocean kayaking, running clubs, cycling, tennis, swimming and walking through many parks. For those who like to ski in the winter, we are located within an hour's drive to several local ski resorts.
